DJ came to us with his good ol’ K1100 and a few ideas of how he wanted it to look, and of course we took those ideas, added some of our own magic and ran with it.
DJ wanted to improve things at the front end, so we installed a set of Suzuki GSXR 750 forks and brake callipers but modified and spaced to suit the BMW front wheel. Holding the fork legs in place is a set of our machined yokes which feature a neat integrated Daytona Verona display unit.
A Fastec front mudguard, stainless steel stays, machined headlight brackets and a new LED headlight finish off what is now not only a very neat front end, but also a better handling one.
Kellerman Atto indicators take care of turn signal duties, and a Fastec machined throttle housing and machined grips clean up the handlebars.
With the front end sorted we turned our attention to the back with a BMW K1200 RS wheel conversion, which was actually more straightforward than we first imagined. Chunky Pirelli Scorpion Trail STR tyres keep DJ’s beemer gripped to the ground.
We created a set of custom aluminium side panels, which along with the tank and mudguard were treated to a gorgeous classic gun metal grey paint job.
To make sure all the sparky stuff was up to scratch we completely rewired the bike utilising a Motogadget M unit blue with an m.lock keyless ignition. Neat, tidy and reliable.
With the addition of the custom humped seat and drop down bar end mirrors the bike has a stripped back look thats light years away from how it left the factory.
DJ now has not only a striking individual looking bike, but one that is a hell of a lot more fun to ride!
