Introducing: Robert Carman
Role: Design Engineer
Joining the team just under two years ago, Robert’s love of motorcycles stems from his teenage years and now sees him living out a lifelong dream of working in the industry.
When asked why Fastec Racing caught his attention, Robert said: “I had been keen to work with SolidWorks as a designer for roughly two years but could never land a job. Looking at the work Fastec produces, I saw that quality was taken very seriously and I respected that. I wanted an opportunity to produce that level of work too, so applied as soon as a vacancy came available.”
Now unable to imagine himself working outside of the motorcycle industry ever again, Robert’s love of the job has enabled him to work on some impressive projects. Naming the Honda VF 750c as his dream bike, we certainly know he’s got a bit of taste!
Wanting to push the boundaries, Robert hope to be able to work with Fastec Racing in creating a full machined motorcycle body and tank. “It’s an exciting thought and an ambitious job but I don’t think it would be too much for the team here… not in the slightest,” he added.
Laughing about his now prevalent coffee addiction, Robert is an avid gamer outside of work and hopes to start riding as soon as possible.
